Barbra Streisand Adds Canadian Dates, Philadelphia to Tour

Barbra Streisand recently made waves when she announced that she would be performing in her hometown of Brooklyn later this year for the first time since she was in high school, and now she’s announced a handful of other dates around North America, as well.

The Brooklyn dates will take place at the borough’s new arena, Barclays Center on October 11 and October 13, but Streisand will open the tour at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on October 8. Later in October, she will perform three shows in Canada in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto before heading south for a concert at the United Center in Chicago on October 26. The final show currently on the schedule will find her crossing the Canadian border once again to perform at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. There has been no word yet if other dates will be added to the tour in the future.

All of the performances around North America will be supported by guests Chris Botti and Il Volo. The latter group is a trio of teenaged Italian pop-opera singers that formed during the Italian music competition show “Ti lascio una canzone.”

Most of the tickets for the upcoming tour will go on-sale to the public on August 13, though the Philadelphia and Montreal dates will be available August 11. Both shows in Brooklyn are already sold out.

Additionally, Streisand’s official website says that a limited number of tickets will be available as a presale, and fans can receive a password for the presale through the Barbra Streisand Mailing List. The password will be sent out early on August 9.

Streisand’s most recent album, What Matters Most, was released in August of last year and is her 33rd studio album. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
