Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean Lands Back in Rehab
Backsteet Boys member A.J. McLean, who in the past has had addiction struggles, is in rehab once again.
In a statement, McLean said I have checked into a rehabilitation clinic, for personal reasons. Because 2011 is going to be a very busy year for the Backstreet Boys, I really want to be at my best and healthy.
In June, New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are slated to kick off their long summer tour. The two groups, which have named their outing “NKOTBSB,” in recent months have made a couple joint television appearances.
McLean earlier this week made a couple references via Twitter about his plans. He wrote on January 9, I love you all. Wish me luck as I begin my sober journey tomorrow. The next day his tweet said, see you at the other side.
An anonymous source informed TMZ that lately McLean has been really out of control. His problems had been interfering with tour preparations.
In 2001 as well as 2002, McLean went into rehab for cocaine and alcohol abuse.
