Arctic Monkeys Unveil North American Tour Dates
On March 7, Arctic Monkeys, the British indie-rock group, released the dates for their summer, 2011 tour which will begin in the United States and end in the United Kingdom. The United States leg will begin in Washington D.C. on May 17 and will wind up on June 3 in Los Angeles, California.
The group will play in 12 North American cities, with two scheduled for Canada. After the North American portion ends, the group will return to Europe and play in numerous music festivals including the V Festival, the Banicassim Festival, and the Fuji Rock Festival.
It is probable that the group will be promoting their EP, Submarine, which is going to go on sale on March 14, 2011. The length of their tour is short when compared with previous tours, and skips Chicago, which is a place in which they have sold a lot of tickets in the past.
The last album put out by the Arctic Monkeys was Humbug. It was released by Domino in August,2009. There is no current information on a possible 4th album.
Tickets will go on presale for the North American tour on March 9th. After that, tickets will be available to the general public on either March 11 or March 12, based on the city where the concert is being held. The lowest ticket is $25 and the highest ticket is $35, plus fees. The tickets can be purchased on the Arctic Monkeys’ website. The concerts are open to people of any age, with the exception of the concert in Minneapolis, MN on May 28, which will be for people who are 18 years old or older only.
