Arcade Fire, the Canadian indie rock band, was formed in Montreal, Quebec in 2003. Members of the band include Will Butler, Sarah Neufeld, Tim Kingsbury, Richard Reed Parry, Jeremy Gara, Regine Chassagne and also Win Butler (husband of Regine Chassagne). In 2004, Arcade Fire released their debut set “Funeral,” which received critical acclaim. Band members play the mandolin, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, harp, keyboard, French horn, glockenspiel, double bass, xylophone, viola cello, piano, violin, drums, bass guitar and guitar. The band takes most of the instruments with them on tour and take turns playing them throughout their shows.

Arcade Fire has received several awards, including the Album of the Year Grammy Award in 2011 and 2011 Brit Award as Best International Album. They won both of those awards for their third set “The Suburbs,” which received much commercial success as well as critical acclaim following its 2010 release. In 2008, Arcade Fire;s second set “Neon Bible” won the Juno Award as Alternative Album of the Year and Meteor Music Award as Best International Album. All three of Arcade Fire's albums have received Grammy Award nominations for Best Alternative Music Album.
