Andrea Bocelli Takes ‘Passione’ On World Tour

Famed tenor Andrea Bocelli will spend much of this year on a world tour promoting his newest album, Passione.

Bocelli’s next scheduled performance will be at the du Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on March 22.  After that, he has a few shows scheduled in Taiwan, China and Malaysia before he begins a European tour for the rest of May that will find him traveling to Serbia, German, Prague and Romania.

After that, he will begin his first North American tour leg in Denver at the Pepsi Center on June 5, and will stay in the country though a June 13 show at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York.

After more European dates in June and September, Bocelli will be back in the U.S. starting December 7 when he performs at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He will then play Phoenix, Brooklyn, Washington, D.C. and Tampa before ending the tour at Phillips Arena in Atlanta on December 15.

Passione was released in January, and is the second volume of his Amore work. The album features the singer singing in six languages (English, French, Italian, Neapolitian, Portuguese and Spanish), and the album features guest spots from Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado and Edith Piaf.

The album also finds Bocelli once again working with producer David Foster, who has won 16 Grammy Awards. Foster also worked on Bocelli’s 2006 album Amore, which went on to sell more than 4.2 million copies.

“Andrea continues to be my favorite singer of all time,” Foster said in a statement. “I pride myself on working with great voices, but he transcends that. He’s a singer for all people, from the common man to the Pope.”

The album contains several well known songs including “Love Me Tender,” “Girl From Ipanema” and “Sara Settembre,” which is better known in the U.S. as “September Morn” from Neil Diamond.
