The American punk rock group Alkaline Trio was formed in 1996 in McHenry, Illinois. Band members include Derek Grant (drums), Dan Andriano (bass, vocals) and Matt Skiba (guitar, vocals). The band to date has released seven albums. They released “This Addiction,” their latest album, in February 2010.
Alkaline Trio released “Sundials,” their first EP, in 1997. In 1998, the band released “For Your Lungs Only,” a second EP. Later in 1998, they released “Goddamnit,” the band's first full length set. In 2000 they released their second album, “Maybe I'll Catch Fire.”
“From Here To Infirmary” was released in 2001 via Vagrant Records. It was the first Alkaline Trio album to reach Billboard's 200 mark as well as have a six figure sales gross. The band also made music videos for their singles “Private Eye” and “Stupid Kid” from the album. In 2003, the band released “Good Mourning.”
“Crimson,” the band's fifth album, was released in 2005. “Time to Waste” was the featured single. “Burn” and “Mercy Me” were other singles released off the album. In 2008, Alkaline Trio released sixth album, “Agony & Irony.” The set debuted in the No. 13 spot on Billboard's album chart.
In 2010, the band released “This Addiction” on their own record label called Heart & Skull. The set debuted in the No. 11 spot on Billboard's 200 chart, which is the highest chart to date for the band. “Damenesia,” the eighth studio album from Alkaline Trio, is set to be released in July 2011.
