Alison Krauss Embarks on Summer Tour with Union Station

This summer will be a busy one for Union Station, which features Jerry Douglas, and Alison Krauss. The bluegrass veterans are planning a tour that will kick off in the first part of June and then stretch all the way into the middle of September.

It’s been a long time since Krauss toured with Union Station. The band consists of Dan Tyminski on lead vocals, mandolin and guitar; Barry Bales on harmonies and bass; Ron Block on harmonies, guitar and banjo; and Jerry Douglas, dobro master, who contributes harmony vocals as well. “Paper Airplane,” Union Station’s new album, will be released on April 12 by Rounder Records.

The tour will kick off on June 4 for a stand of two nights at The Palace in Louisville. The summer outing will play over 50 cities, including June 9 in Indianapolis; June 23 in Los Angeles; July 1 in Boise, Idaho; July 5 in Edmonton, Alberta; July 22 in Philadelphia; July 28 in Boston; August 7 in Vienna, VA; August 13 in Atlanta; September 2 in Denver; September 8 in Detroit and September 15 in Kansas City.
