RIAA has certified “The Massacre” five times platinum and the set has sold 11 million worldwide copies.
Jackson started to deal drugs when he was twelve years old during the crack epidemic of the 1980s. After he left drug dealing in order to purse a career in rap, he was shot and hit with nine bullets during a 2000 incident. In 2002 after 50 Cent released “Guess Who's Back,” the rapper Eminem discovered him and Interscope Records signed 50 Cent to a record deal. With help from Dr. Dre, who was the producer for his major first commercial successes along with Eminem, Jackson emerged as one of the top selling rappers in the world. He founded a record label called G-Unit Records in 2003. Several successful rappers were signed such as Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck.
Jackson has feuded with other rappers over the years, including Rick Ross, Cam'ron, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Ja Rule as well as Young Buck and The Game, former members of G-Unit. He has also pursued acting and appeared in 2005 in “Get Rich or Die Tryin',” in 2006 in “Home of the Brave” and in 2008 in “Righteous Kill.”
