With the new month just settling in, alternative rock icons Cake will be spending most of September touring to begin spreading the word about their forthcoming release which is yet to have a title.
The tour will have the band trekking through the east coast after performing for two straight nights in Quebec, on September 10 and 11, to formally open the tour. The schedule also includes what seems to be an early New Year’s Eve show announcement for their fans in the south as the band will be performing in Austin, TX on December 31.
The as-of-yet untitled album marks the sixth studio set for the rock act and their first that is produced and recorded in a solar energy powered studio located in Sacramento, CA. Named by Billboard magazine as one of the top 10 environment-friendly music acts, Cake believed that going green should be an urgent matter. “Science is telling us that we need to make adjustments. Living in California, it seemed like a waste not to take advantage of all the free electricity”, band leader John McCrea added.
Continue ReadingIt seems like we will see a bit more of the Palins on TV this fall as Sarah Palin’s infamous daughter, the 19-year old single mother Bristol Palin is confirmed to appear in the 11th season of the ABC dance-off “Dancing with the Stars”.
“She’s excited for me. She knows this is going to be hard work,” the younger Palin said of her mother’s reaction to her stint at the top rating primetime show. Palin’s participation in the ABC Monday night dance competition follows her on-again and off-again engagement – or what the press described as a “media stint” – to her fame seeking baby daddy Levi Johnston who knocked her up in 2008 and fathered the now two-year old Tripp. Johnston, who is now eyeing a seat in public office in his native Alaska after his Playgirl spread, is said to have a very ill relationship with Bristol’s mother and former Republican VP aspirant, Sarah Palin.

The show would still have the same trio of judges – Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and Piers Morgan – with host Nick Cannon still on board. According to Paul Telegdy, EVP of Alternative Programming and Production, having a “dream team of celebrity judges” and a “versatile host” will guarantee a much better show next season especially after season five’s new creative strategies which proved to be successful after ATG surpassed all other summer TV shows with an average of 11.8 million viewers for both of its scheduled airings every Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The band will be launching the fall run on October 3 with a show at the LA County Fair in Pomona, CA followed by a string of Midwest shows before the band heads to three Canadian stops in mid-October then back to the US to cruise throughout the east coast till the homestretch of the tour in early November. The band will be crossing back to the west coast to wrap the tour up with a show in Santa Barbara’s The Hub on November 9.
The band is also slated to perform in Brazil for three straight nights from September 16 to 18 and in Barcelona for the BAM Festival on September 25, after a two-night swing in the east coast on September 11 and 12.

On Sunday night at the Emmys producer Nigel Lythegoe said, I still really support Elton John, which seemed to confirm reports that John was heading “Idol’s” wish list. He also said I don’t think the negotiations have gone very well. There’s difficulties over accessibility. Essentially Mr. John would need to commit to Fox for four months to their singing competition.

Now Mayer, through his Tumblr page, is throwing back sharp words at HuffPo. Calling the online portal “full of s*it”, “the internet death star” and “the world’s first spectator banking website”. Which raises the question, what’s with all the rage, John?
It seems that HuffPo has been spreading the news that Mayer and ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston has rekindled an old flame based on Mayer’s quoted live remarks. To further support their claims, the website also reported that the singer was conveying sweet facial expressions to a woman situated at the side of the stage who looked like the actress.
