Continue ReadingBET Networks is hosting a Haitian telethon and benefit concert on February 5. Performances from Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber and Ludracris, among other others, will be featured.
According to a recent press release other featured performances for “SOS Saving Ourselves- Help For Haiti,” will include Damian Marley, Nas, Kirk Franklin, Monica, Robin Thicke, Akon, Pitbull, Jazmine Sullivan, Chris Brown and Keri Hilson. The showed will be taped in Miami, FL at American Airlines Arena.
Pharrell, Queen Latifah and Sean “Diddy” Combs will host the concert telethon. Other celebrities participating will include Sean Kingston, T-Pain, Jason Derulo, The Dream, Jeremih, Chrisette Michelle, Pete Wentz, Gloria Estefan, Missy Elliot, David Banner, Common and Trey Songz.

The festival held on Earth Day weekend will be featuring a Marley solo acoustic set as well as full band performances from Mahal and Johnson.

The pair will start things off at Largo in Los Angeles, California on March 15 and bookend the brief trek at Coachella Music Festival on April 16.

Their first stop would be in Knoxville in their home state at TN on April 26. This will be followed by a much anticipated performance at the Bamboozle Music Fest on Labor Day, May 1, at East Rutherford, New Jersey. They will be headlining the two-day music festival. They will be touring 13 cities throughout the first two weeks of May which will be concluded with a performance at Las Vegas on May 16.
Continue ReadingOn Sunday January 31, the Zac Brown Band and Taylor Swift were awarded the first Grammy Awards of their careers in Los Angeles for two of the higher profile categories of the night. “Fearless,” Swift’s album, claimed the final honor of the night- Album of the Year. Swift also won three country awards, for “Fearless” she won Best Country Album, and for her song “”White Horse” she won Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. The Zac Brown band was awarded the Grammy for Best New Artist for all genres.
