The Bergen Record is reporting that it is Bon Jovi and not the closer Bruce Springsteen who will open the new New York Jets and Giants stadium next spring. It is quite fitting that Jon Bon Jovi, Springsteen and the Jersey Boys all be part of the Meadowlands’ history.

In February, Bon Jovi is launching a world tour with a schedule full of arena dates that will last for two years. The tour is to support “The Circle,” the band’s newest and upcoming studio album. The tour will start in Seattle on February 19. The West Coast swing will continue through the middle of March before heading for the east.

Tickets for four of Taylor Swift’s tour dates for 2010 sold out just two minutes after they went on sale Friday, according to Swift’s publicists. All of the tickets that were released Friday for the 15 U.S. shows for Swift’s 2010 Fearless tour all sold out within minutes.

“Songs of Love and Heartache,” the forthcoming album from Alan Jackson, will be released along with Jackson merchandise as The Alan Jackson Collection. According to a recent press release, the collection will be exclusively sold through Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. The album features 12 songs, including two tunes that were previously unreleased.

Maxwell, Beyonce and Keri Hilson, with four nominations each, are leading the list of nominees for Soul Train’s 2009 Awards which will be given out next month. Beyonce, Grammy award winner, has been nominated for: Best Female R&B/Soul Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the song “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” and her set “I Am… Sasha Fierce has been nominated for Album of the Year.

Paul McCartney will be embarking later this year on a tour of Europe for the first time since 2004 after completing his extensive North American summer run. The arena outing consists of seven dates, taking the ex Beatle through Western Europe. He will kick off the trek in Hamburg, Germany on December 2 and wrap up in London on December 22. The performance in London will be McCartney’s first show ever at O2 Arena.

Later this month Weezer will be backing “Raditude,” their upcoming studio album, with a December run of headlining dates as well as two shows on each coasts. The band will play in Los Angeles on October 24 and in New York City on October 31. After a short break they will embark on a brief outing to support their new album on December 1 in Chicago. Their short trek covers six cities in 10 days, capped off by a Philadelphia appearance on December 10.

Billy Joel and Elton John have another arena run of dates lined up as part of “Face 2 Face,” their ongoing set of co-headlining shows. On November 4 the pair will be in returning to the stage in Seattle. Dates have been scheduled through to December 7, where an Albany, NY make-up concert will take place. According to an issued press release, the date was scheduled originally for July but had to be postponed after Joel became ill with symptoms that were flu-like.

The X Factor continues to bring top acts to their line up to perform on the show. Next month JLS and Bon Jovi will hit the stage in order to promote their latest singles. On Sunday November 1 both groups will be playing live as both the public as well as judges will decide which of the X Factor acts are going to make it through the sing-off elimination.

Last week “Crazy Love” by Michael Buble debuted on top of Billboard’s US album chart. It will stay in that position after experiencing an increase in sales of 55% over the debut week total. According to retail figures from Nielsen SoundScan reported by Bilboard, “Crazy Love” during the first week of its release sold 132,000 copies and 203,000 copies during its first full week in stores.
