Chesney announced that no major tour would be scheduled for the summer of 2010. He relayed the information to Entertainment Weekly before his September 19 show in Indianapolis.

Maxwell Adds Dates to Black Summer’s Night Tour

Maxwell has added several shows onto the end of his upcoming arena tour this fall in support of “BLACKsummers’night,” his fourth studio album. Concerts have been added for North Little Rock AR on October 10; Memphis, TN on October 20; New Orleans on October 21; and Baltimore on October 23. The 18 city, month long outing will kick off in Toronto on September 25.

Mark Knopfler Looks to ‘Get Lucky’ on Spring Tour

Ex-Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler is already penciling in his calendar for spring as he sets up a 23-city tour to support his latest release “Get Lucky.” The North American jaunt gets started in Seattle, Washington on April 8 and spirals its way through early May closing in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Knopfler will pack his bags for Europe afterwards to continue touring into July.

Jimmy Buffett, No Doubt Join in on Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit Show

Monsters of Folk, Gavin Rossdale, Sheryl Crow, Wolfmother, Fleet Foxes, Chris Martin- Coldplay’s frontman, No Doubt and Neil Young will be performing both nights at this year’s Bridge School Annual Benefit concert. The event will take place in Mountain View, CA at Shoreline Amphitheater October 24 and 25. On the engagement’s first night Jimmy Buffett will also be featured. Adam Sandler, the comedian and actor, will be featured during the second night.

Last week, Norah Jones debuted “Young Blood,” a new song from her forthcoming album “The Fall” in San Francisco at an Apple press conference. According to a recent press release the album, featuring a photographic portrait done by Autumn de Wilde, is going to be released on November 17 by Blue Note Records of EMI.

Wolfmother Hatches Tour for ‘Cosmic Egg’

Wolfmother is headed out on a headline tour of North America for the first time in over two years to support their upcoming album, “Cosmic Egg.” The rock band from Australia will begin their tour in Dallas on October 29, and will crisscross North America on a twenty city tour before finishing their run in Los Angeles on November 24. There is one stop in Canada in Vancouver on November 21.

Widespread Panic Spreads the Love with the Allman Brothers and Solo

Widespread Panic, the veteran jam rockers, have an upcoming tour of the Southern US as openers for The Allman Brothers Band. They will then follow that up with their own headlining tour.

Next month Widespread Panic will be visiting nine cities along with the Allmans, kicking things off in Charlotte, NC on October 3-4. Their headlining trek will kick off in Austin, TX on October 30-31, and will include two shows on November 27-28 in Charleston, SC.

Widespread Panic continues supporting their 10th studio set, “Free Somehow,” which follows “Earth to America,” released in 2006. Last year their latest album was released after recording the set in Nassau, Bahamas. For the record the band re-teamed with renowned producer Terry Manning (Jimmy Buffett, ZZ Top).
