Brian Wilson Shakes off Sand for 2009 Fall Tour

Former Beach Boy Brian Wilson is ready to hit the road this fall to tour in support of his most recent album “That Lucky Old Sun.” The 17-date tour will start at the Soaring Eagle in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin on October 23 and make its way to Stateline, Nevada to wrap things up on December 5 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. These dates come after Wilson makes a short stint in the UK (view dates).

Raveonettes Toast Fall Tour

The Raveonettes have a new album ready for store shelves on October 6 entitled “In and Out of Control” and a slew of fall tour dates to go along with it. The 19-date road trip will start at Webster Hall in New York on October 14 and finish November 15 in Las Vegas.

Placebo Launches North American Tour

Placebo will be jumping the pond to tour North American hot on the heals of their highly anticipated album “Battle for the Sun.” The tour will break ground in Portland, Oregon on September 12 then close on October 11 at Terminal 5 in New York. The group is currently hitting the festival circuit in Europe as a precursor to the US jaunt and will return for more dates spanning through December.

Moby Get Instrumental on Fall Tour

Moby may be best known for spinning the turntables to form his unique sound, but he’ll be leaving his comfort zone for his upcoming fall tour in support of his latest album ‘Wait for Me.’ ‘Wait’ was released into the wild last month, and debuted at 22 on the Billboard album charts. These Moby tour dates will mark the first time he’s been on the road with a live band since 2005. The band will be comprised of friend Kelli Scarr as well as tba drummer, bassist and violinist.

Leonard Cohen Fuels Tour for Another US Leg

Its been 15 long years since Leonard Cohen toured the US and evidently now that he’s gotten a taste for it, he can’t stop. Cohen will set out on a second leg of shows starting with Sunrise, Florida on October 17 and concluding November 13 in San Jose, California. Leonard Cohen tour dates look to touch down in the markets he neglected before — Atlanta, Florida, Ohio.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Gears Up for 2009 Tour

There might not be a winner crowned yet for the fifth season of the dance competition ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning for the upcoming tour. Dates have been released that will take the top 10 dancing fools on a 40 city run through North America. Manchester, NH will host the first show on September 20 and the festivities will wrap their way through the end of November. Tickets will be onsale through Ticketmaster this Saturday (7/25).

Kelly Clarkson 2009 Tour Set for Fall

Kelly Clarkson will be heading out in support of her latest album “All I Ever Wanted” this fall. “Wanted” was released in March, charting a number 1 debut on the Billboard charts. The album’s first singles “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “I Do Not Hook Up” have seen modest success hanging around Billboard’s Hot 100.

David Gray Tours on ‘Draw the Line’

David Gray is busy readying his eighth studio album ‘Draw the Line’ for release on September 22. It will mark his first set of original material since 2005’s ‘Life in Slow Motion’. In 2007, Gray released a compilation of cover tunes recorded live labeled ‘A Thousand Miles Behind’. It included many artists who have proved influential to David’s musical career including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

Beastie Boys Cancel Tour

The Beastie Boys were all ready to rock out with a 3-month tour launching at the All Points West Festival at month’s end. Life seems to have had other plans for the group as they were forced to cancel all tour dates and put their latest album on the backburner as it was announced that Adam “MCA” Yauch has cancer. The cancer is reportedly located in the salivary gland.

He is like music’s version of George Lucas. He is undeniably a genius and his contributions to music and impact on other artists could never be overstated. The incredible gifts he gave to us all early in his career have no doubt earned him infinite second chances from loyal fans. However, he seems to have lost his way when it comes to separating wheat from chaff. It really has been quite some time since he has delivered anything close to his early mind-blowing work.
